Thomas Boehm studied medicine at the Medical University of Vienna and worked for several years in basic science laboratories as postdoctoral fellow in Vienna and Boston. After working for almost a decade in various biotechnology companies with a focus on preclinical, translational, and clinical drug development, he returned to academia in 2012 to start working on diamine oxidase, the only extracellular histamine-degrading enzyme.
