Piezo1 as a therapeutic target in kidney disease: emerging mechanistic insights and translational potential

Prof. Anil Bhanudas Gaikwad is Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BITS Pilani), Pilani Campus, Vidya Vihar, Pilani, Rajasthan, India. He did his master’s and Ph.D. from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER, SAS Nagar. He was awarded Doctoral Sandwich Fellowship from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Services) during his doctoral studies. After completing doctoral studies, he worked as a visiting scientist in the Department of Medicine/Nephrology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY, USA, and Nephrological Center, Medizinische Poliklinik, Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich. His research focuses on various kidney diseases, cardiovascular complications, cardiorenal syndrome, and diabetes mellitus.
