Tao Zhang is a lecturer at the School of Food Science and Environmental Health, Technological University Dublin, and programme chair of the Higher Certificate in Science in Pharmacy Technician Studies. He holds a BSc (Hons) in pharmaceutical technology and a PhD in pharmacy research. His research focuses on drug discovery, natural product research for health, and ethnopharmacology. He and his team developed the drug candidate PH46A, which entered clinical trials. He is currently co-coordinator of the European Association of Pharmacy Technicians-European Academic Network, a principal investigator at the Trinity Centre for Natural Products Research, and associate editor of BMC Chemistry.
